There are a number of romantic K-Dramas airing at the moment such as “The King’s Affection”, “Secret Royal Inspector Joy”, “Now, We Are Breaking Up” and more. This week, our favourite romantic pick is a scene from “Let Me Be Your Knight”, starring Jung InSun and U-KISS’ Lee JunYoung in the leading roles. Spoiler Alert! On episode 3 of “Let Me Be Your Knight”, Yoon TaeIn (Lee JunYoung) and In YoonJu (Jung InSun) can be seen getting closer little by little. Their patience for each other is increasing and they’re starting to get fond of each other’s quirks, even though they would never admit it. In YoonJu has become the source of TaeIn’s inspiration and therefore, in some sense, his muse. This sentiment is further carried forward in the key opening scene of episode 4.
As we get into episode 4, Yoon TaeIn and In YoonJu are in a rather dangerous predicament. TaeIn is going through some difficult and traumatic feelings triggered by his father’s visit, which he ends up taking out on YoonJu. In his sleepwalking stupor, TaeIn knocks YoonJu down and starts choking her to the point of breathlessness. We’re taken into TaeIn’s mind where we see him grappling with the constant emotional abuse of his father calling him a failure. Naturally, this comes to the surface and TaeIn is in tears, begging for his father to not call him so with his hands around what he thinks is his father’s neck. YoonJu is perceptive and quickly catches on to what’s happening. She brings her hand up to his cheek and caresses it gently, reassuring him that he’s not a failure. Even though TaeIn is not in his senses and he doesn’t register what he’s seeing or hearing, he still imagines YoonJu comforting him in his sleep, glowing like an angel. Finally, Yoon TaeIn gives in to the familiar feeling and bends down to rest his head on the nook of YoonJu’s neck. As the sun comes up, we see TaeIn “looking” fondly at YoonJu and reaching out to gently touch her face. As YoonJu wakes up, TaeIn is shaken awake and taken aback by the fact that they’re lying next to each other. Could this scene have gotten any dreamier?
