There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Lau is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Argentina and is a fan of A.C.E! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hello everyone! I’m Lau from Argentina. I’m a 22 years old college student and today I want to talk about A.C.E, my favorite kpop group whose fandom is called CHOICE. How and when did you enter the fandom? I joined the fandom back in December 2016 when the fandom didn’t have a name. By this time A.C.E didn’t debut yet but they used to post a lot of dance and vocal covers. Someone on Twitter shared a link to one of their covers (‘All Of Me’ covered by DongHun and Chan) and after watching it I decided to check on all their covers. Then, I instantly fell in love with them. What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? They are one of the most original groups I’ve ever seen. They’re not scared of trying new genres, styles, concepts, etc. That’s something I really appreciate because I tend to get bored easily, but since the moment I decided to stan them I can only enjoy everything they do. I also love that they are really kind and funny, I can spend hours and hours watching their variety shows and lives <3.
Who caught your attention at first and why? I think it was Jun, he’s really attractive and has a special voice that stands out. Who is your bias, and why? I’m ot5 biased, it’s impossible for me to choose a bias~ Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? For title track, It’d be ‘Favorite Boys’ since, in my opinion, it gives a really good impression of what is A.C.E and B-side… It is hard to choose only one but I’ll go for ‘Slow Dive’ that shows A.C.E’s sexy side lol. Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? It’s one of their best covers on YouTube with 10M views <3 Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? “Look at it, if you have the strength You can take a break, I’ll wait It’s okay to be a little late, don’t worry ‘Cause we’ll end up walking in the same place.” – ‘Remember Us’. This part of the song hits hard since some members of the group enlisted and this song is from their last album. This album was prepared just for choice to be sure that A.C.E is coming back soon! Are there any words from the members you would like to share? This clip from when ByeongKwan participated in a Mental Health Panel! I’ll always be so proud of him for this, especially because it’s still hard for people to talk about this kind of things that we all go through every day. I also recommend watching the full video.

Whenever I’m having a bad day I know A.C.E is always there with me, with songs like ‘If You Heard’, ‘Clover’, ‘5TAR’, ‘Remember Us’, etc., or even with their V Lives they let it clear we are never alone. What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying? That they’re fans too so we don’t feel alone, they are fans of a lot of K-Pop groups such as MONSTA X, VIXX, H.O.T, EXO, etc. So we’re always screaming and crying together. You can also add a message to your bias or show it on a message scrapbook. A.C.E! Thanks for making me the happiest person! Becoming a fan was and will always be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Thanks for always being so kind, supportive, genuine, and real with choice. Finally, the last thing I’d like to say is that once you start stanning a.c.e there’s no way back! They are insanely talented and most people, even those who don’t stan know it! I’ll always be proud of them because even if they started in a small company they did really well to the point that the company is getting bigger and bigger every day.
