This year’s festival will be centred around the theme ‘Healing with Hallyu’, connecting Korean culture enthusiasts and K-Pop fans alike through what is set to be an unmissable experience. The event will be streamed free of charge and people all around the globe will be able to join in on the livestream. The event will be presented by Sophia Tang and Shai from the K-Pop platform The K-Way – and will include performances by the Korean girl group Laboum 라붐 (members YuJeong & SoYeon) and boy group MustB 머스트비. Their performances will be accompanied by exciting and engaging content displaying Korean fashion (both hanbok and contemporary), beauty, drama/film, music discussion with well-known influencers and much more.
Enhancing the togetherness spirit, this year’s event will also include opportunities for members of the audience to get involved – by sharing their thoughts and experiences with Korean dramas and films or by taking part in the Hallyu Con 2021 Challenges – and be featured on segments and join the live event. Korean Cultural Centre UK Director Jungwoo Lee said “This year’s edition of Hallyu Con is an opportunity to further strengthen the hallyu community and the hallyu friendships that reach out across the UK and Europe”. Similar to the previous edition, the event programme will include various activities to entertain and engage viewers interested in different aspects of Hallyu. These will include:
- A showcase of Korean Fashion with insight into traditional and contemporary hanbok creation, as well as contemporary high street fashion
- An overview of Korean Cuisine straight from the streets of London with influencers and content creators that are well known across the Hallyu community
- A look at Korean fitness trends that have became popular as result of the global pandemic which continues to negatively impact communities around the globe – and a Taekwondo demonstration by UK team Livingwell TKD, which will definitely surprise viewers
- An insight into Korean dramas and films that have left a strong impression on UK and European fans this year.
