This series will get to know some of the female idols who are girl crush material. A ‘girl crush’ is defined as a woman or girl who is the object of one’s admiration. In other words, one of the female K-Pop idols that fans wish was their best friend or girlfriend. This can be based on their style, personality, overall vibe, etc. BLACKPINK’s Lisa opened the series for us followed by MAMAMOO’s HwaSa, TWICE’s JiHyo, ITZY’s RyuJin, Red Velvet’s SeulGi, Jeon SoMi, STAYC’s SuMin, LOONA’s Yves, ChungHa, former Lovelyz member MiJoo, (G)I-DLE’s SoYeon, HyunA, Jessi, EVERGLOW’s Mia, EXID’s Hani, IVE’s YuJin, and CL. Readers voted for IU in our weekly poll (at the end of the article) to be featured this week. Let’s get to know our girl crush, IU! IU is famous as one of the most popular K-Pop solo artists with one of the sweetest and most melodic voices out there. She has a huge ability to pull off many singing styles and a wide musical range from emotional ballads to hip and fun bops. The song that established IU as an unmatched vocalist was ‘Good Day’. Whenever she sings this song live it gives the entire audience goosebumps, especially when she hits the iconic high note. Here is a video of her performing it on the variety show “Knowing Brothers”.
Not only is she an incredible vocal talent who can move you with her lyrics and sentimental tone, but IU can make you cry as an actress too. She has had a number of roles that have simply blown audiences away because of her natural authentic acting and on-screen presence. Some of her most iconic roles have been in the dramas “My Mister”, “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”, and “Hotel Del Luna” to name a few. IU has overcome a lot to be able to share her talents with the world and as fans, we are grateful. Her ability to always surprise her fans with new concepts, music styles, and acting roles is a gift from the K-Pop and K-Drama heavens. Not only is she talented, but IU is simply gorgeous.
