“Rebound” will be helmed by director Jang HangJun, prominently known for works like “Forgotten” and “Break Out” and his wife, the esteemed writer Kim EunHee, who spearheaded the globally renowned series “Kingdom”, “Jirisan”, “Signal” and more. The premise of the film draws from the legendary victory of the Busan JoongAng High School basketball team in a monumental national championship match held in 2012 with only 6 players, one of whom injured himself in the middle of the game. Despite the unforeseen circumstances, Coach Kang YangHyun directed the team to an undisputed win, earning them 2nd place in the overall tournament. Filming for “Rebound” started earlier this month. Ahn JaeHong, known for his brilliant portrayal of diverse characters in works like “Fight For My Way”, “Be Melodramatic” and “Time To Hunt” will be taking on the role of the central protagonist, Kang YangHyun, former basketball player and current coach of JoongAng High School Basketball Team, who leads his team to victory even in the direst of situations. Kim DoWan, Jung GunJoo, Kim Taek, and Lee SinYoung will be playing high school basketball players under Kang YangHyun’s guidance. Kim DoWan is currently appearing in the tvN drama “I Have Not Done My Best” as Han JooHyuk and is most popularly known for playing the dorky yet kind Do JaeJin in “My Roommate Is A Gumiho”. He is 186 cm tall, giving him an advantageous physique for a basketball player. Jung GunJoo, who debuted with his appearance in the music video for DAY6’s ‘I Like You’, most recently played the role of Shin Gyeom in the romantic comedy “Monthly Magazine Home”. Jung GunJoo is 187 cm tall and his dimpled smile can make you swoon in no time. Kim Taek, who previously appeared in “The King’s Affection” as Prince Won San, leaving a strong impression on viewers with his TV debut, was a basketball player before he stepped into the entertainment industry. With a towering figure, standing tall at 193 cm and effortless charisma, Kim Taek is all set to steal hearts left and right. Lee SinYoung cemented his status as a rising star with his latest work “Rookie Cops” where he played the fearless and straight-forward Kim Tak. From an endearing boyish look to a completely contrasting masculine charm, Lee SinYoung has it all. He is 180 cm tall and his handsome features could make anyone’s heart flutter. Needless to say, the visuals in this movie are immaculate and we cannot wait to see the actors’ synergy light up our screens. However, more importantly, the real story of hard work, persistence, and overcoming adversities together as a team, will undoubtedly strike a chord with viewers. With the adrenaline of a sports film and the wholesomeness of youth, “Rebound” deserves all the hype in the world. Are you excited to watch “Rebound”?
