Can A Caucasian Become A K-Pop Idol? Or can a non-Asian become a K-Pop idol? Fans Debate The Standing Of Non-Asian Idols In The K-Pop Industry: The Who, Why, Where, And How FANBUZZ|Jul 4, 2022 If you have been in the K-Pop international community for a while, you will know that it is one of the huge debate. Views are very divided on the subject. The debate was brought up again by the girls of the show “UHSN” who love K-Pop and are in Korea to learn more about it. Luda from Poland explained that her dream is to be a K-Pop idol but that she has a lot of thoughts about it. She explained that in Korea she feels that she will not be accepted because she is not Asian. She said that she doesn’t know how to do. Maria from the U.S. explained that among international fans of K-Pop there are people thinking that someone who is non-Asian better not become a K-Pop artist. After she appeared on the TV show “I Can See Your Voice”, she had to face malicious comments. Koreans who commented the post mentioned that he/she would like to see only Koreans in K-Pop. The person also said that they are already a lot of trainees in Korea. Another person mentioned she can’t understand why non-Koreans want to debut in Korea because there are already so many local trainees. International fans also have divided opinions. While some are asking for more diversity in K-Pop groups who are global artists, some think that K-Pop idols should be Asian (or only Korean). Opinions are diverse and the debate is huge. Share with us in the comment and in the poll what do you think about a non-Asian debuting in a K-Pop group.

Fans Debate The Standing Of Non-Asian Idols In The K-Pop Industry: The Who, Why, Where, And How FANBUZZ|Jul 4, 2022 -Esmei Alisha Irving. now I’m in 9th grade and One thing that has made me lose all my confidence and be like “Gurll why am I chasing this dream” Like I compare other idols to me and I know I don’t stand a chance of being a K-pop Idol. Seeing stuff like you can be a kpop Idol gives me full confidence but then seeing comments, articles saying stuff like it’s impossible and saying you can’t makes me lose all my confidence and thats when I question myself and compare myself to Asian people like I’m not capable for this, Like I wanna get debuted fair and square just like the other trainees cause I know they have worked so hard for this and I wanna work hard and be determined and show them that I’m really passionate about this and I’ll do my best. But thanks to Balckswan they have a member named Fatou and she’s non-Asian that gives me confidence to keep trying and working hard towards my dream. Some think I’m a koreaboo and I promise I’m not. I love being Hispanic, I love having a huge family and visitng México and I love my culture, I would never pretend to be someone else. Like Oily London 🙄🙄🙄🙄 I just like the visuals and the different styles all kpop groups have, like they have their own style. I like American music but one thing about kpop is that the songs aren’t about sexual things, drugs, ect. I wanna be in a group with some Asians and non-Asian people. I want to give a positive message to people for example if I do become a kpop idol, I wanna make music about positivity and telling people to not give up on their dreams. I may be a little chubby but This summer I’m planning on working out for about 2 or 3 months every day because if you want to achieve/reach your dream then you’ll have to sacrifice for example like me I’m going to sacrifice to not eat but I’ll still eat but Imma just eat less and workout just so I can make my dream come true. I’m also working hard on learning Korean and Next year for 10th grade since my High School doesn’t have Korean so I’m taking Madrin Chinese and since my high school doesn’t have Korean, Imma just teach myself Korean. Sure I may get hate but I tend to not let negativity get in my way. Take a look at Bts they worked so hard for their dreams and that’s what I’m doing, working hard and being determined. Sure I wanted to be an actress but I never motivated myself to do anything about that dream but ever since I wanted to be a kpop Idol I was and I’m still passionate about this. So I say non-Asian should be in kpop groups only if there are some Asians because y’know how some not all but some people will say that’s not k-pop cause there all non-Asian, Like I have nothing against non-Asian people being in a kpop group, just what others think about it. most of her songs don’t really talk about relationships but if they do , you can’t really tell unless you look at her lyrics properly and I think you shouldn’t only wanna be a kpop idol just because of the concepts etc.. but also because you love Korea and it’s culture and you wanna be a part of it 🙂 think about it 😀 !
