[Summer night is the genre] MONGOO release date: August 28, 2022 “If someone asks me which genre is my music, I’ll say ‘summer night’” ‘Mongoo’, the frontman of the band ‘The Mongoose’ is back as a solo artist with a new EP [Summer night is the genre]. The Mongoose is recognized as a legendary indie band since they released more than 100 singles untill now, and the album [Dancing Zoo] won the ‘Best Modern Rock Album’ at the 3rd Korean Music Awards (2006). Mongoo worked as a musician and writer since 2003, and has recently worked for 2022 Paris Fashion Week - EENK and Seoul Fashion Week - VEGAN TIGER’s music director. The song ’let’s walk this universe’ has the summer night vibe as the album name suggests. All 5 singles show the different faces of summer night, from the explosive universe to gentle waves. According to Mongoo’s essay with the same name as the album, he wants to call his own music genre a ‘summer night’.

[JUST KOREAN POP] Hoochus release date: August 15, 2022 The song that the boy in the dream has sung. ‘Hoochus’, the one-man band consisting of singer-songwriter KIM JEONG WOONG, is back with a refreshing single called [Just Korean Pop]. The title is a word play on the meaning of “Gayo” which both means ‘pop song’ and ‘go’ in Korean. So it means ‘just go’ and ‘just (K)pop’ at the same time. KIM JEONG WOONG has dreamt a dream one day, and he saw a boy in a school uniform, singing with a classic guitar while sitting on a desk. He says that it seemed like himself or maybe a total stranger. KIM started to work on ‘Just Korean Pop’ with the quotes he heard in the dream, and used the term of youth and mellow drama to complete it.
